💷 How It Works

  • You decide how many sessions you want to make available each week

  • You’ll receive a majority percentage of the session fee

  • We keep a small portion to cover the platform, tools, and admin

  • You invoice us monthly for the sessions you’ve completed

  • You’ve built up knowledge, skills, and experience — and someone out there needs exactly what you’ve learned. Becoming a mentor with HeyHopscotch is a way to give back, earn extra income, and connect with people who are ready to take action. It’s flexible, fulfilling, and you’re in full control of your availability.

  • Mentors keep 75% of the session fee—HeyHopscotch retains 25% to cover platform costs like admin, hosting, marketing, and promoting our mentors.

    • Rates: Most mentors start at £100, so you’ll take home £75 per call (invoiced at the end of each month).

    • Room to grow: If your sessions become popular, we’re happy to discuss raising your rate. The more you charge, the more you earn—our 25% share stays the same.

    • Tax: As a VAT-registered business, we add VAT to the session price. For example, a £100 session costs the client £120 (including VAT). You still receive 75% of the pre-VAT session fee.

  • You absolutely could. But HeyHopscotch makes mentoring easy, sustainable, and streamlined:

    • No admin headaches: We handle scheduling, payments, client communication, reminder emails, and follow-up summaries.

    • More time for impact: You get to focus on helping people—no chasing invoices or constant self-promotion.

    • Active promotion: We showcase your expertise to our growing, engaged community, so you reach more people than you could alone.

    • Mentor support: We provide pre-call prep kits to help you deliver focused, high-value sessions, plus feedback and analysis to help you keep improving.

    • Guidance for tricky calls: If you ever face a difficult situation, we’re here with resources and advice so you feel supported—not left to figure it out solo.

  • We ask mentors to commit to at least 4 hours of availability each week — that’s four 1-hour slots in your calendar. It helps us build a reliable platform for both mentors and mentees.
    Of course, you’re in charge of when those hours are — weekdays, evenings, weekends, it’s up to you.

  • No problem at all. You're totally in control of your schedule. Just block out the time in your HeyHopscotch calendar (we provide the scheduling system).
    Got a client call, school play, long weekend, or just want a break? Totally fine — just make sure your calendar reflects your availability so nobody books by accident.

  • You’ll need a laptop or desktop with a webcam and microphone, a stable internet connection, and a quiet space to chat. All sessions run via Google Meet — no special software or subscriptions needed. We’ll guide you through the setup when you join.

  • At the end of each calendar month, we’ll send you a summary of all the sessions you’ve completed. You’ll get paid for the calls you’ve actually done — not just the ones that were booked (in case anyone cancels). Once you receive your summary, just send us an invoice and we’ll process your payment promptly via PayPal or bank transfer.

  • Our customers are paying for your time, so it’s essential that you’re focused, prepared, and present for the full session. That means:

    • Reading the brief or background info the customer has shared before the call

    • Joining from a quiet space with no major distractions

    • Having a reliable device and internet connection

    We totally understand that real life happens — if a delivery arrives or something unexpected comes up and you’re momentarily interrupted, just do your best to make up the time within the hour.
